Art Ginsburg, TV’s Beloved “Mr. Food,” Dies at 81

It's a sad day for foodies everywhere as we mourn the loss of TV's Mr. Food.

Art Ginsburg, known to millions as "Mr. Food," became a household name for his syndicated cooking vingettes that featured fast, easy recipes and his trademark phrase, "Oooh! It's so good!" Ginsburg passed away at his home in Florida following a battle with pancreatic cancer. His career began in 1975 when he landed a gig on a TV station in upstate New York. Since then, his vingettes were featured in over 150 cities nationwide. He has published 52 cookbooks, selling over 8 million copies worldwide.

I grew up watching Mr. Food. I looked forward to his segments, and I remember asking my mom to buy his cookbooks so we could recreate some of that Mr. Food kitchen magic. I think he is one of the reasons I love cooking so much. I am saddened to learn of his passing, but find it fitting that he passed away today: maybe heaven needed someone to help whip up an amazing Thanksgiving dinner.
