Facebook Photo Enrages Thousands

Lindsey Stone may have thought she was being funny when she uploaded a controversial photo to Facebook, but no one is laughing.Here's the rundown: Stone is an employee of the Cape Cod, Massachusetts-based company Living Independently Forever (LIFE). LIFE is a non-profit organization that serves adults with disabilities. Stone and a co-worker, Jamie Schuh, have now been placed on administrative leave following a recent business trip to Arlington National Cemetery.

While at the Tomb of the Unkowns, Schuh snapped the absoluety disgusting photo of Stone. Stone then uploaded the photo to her personal Facebook account. Stone can be seen in the photograph; she's giving the camera her middle finger and pantomiming a scream next to the sign that asks visitors to display "Silence and Respect."

They quite obviously couldn't be bothered to show either. What sort of delusions are these women suffering from? Okay; one: that photo is straight up DISGRACEFUL. I can't even. I am so angry typing this that my vision is getting impared. You are standing next to the tomb of soldiers who have fought and died for you and your family, and yet you think it's funny or ironic or whatever to pose like that? NO. Okay, just no. Her behavior is beyond appalling.

Two: Girl, we live in the digital age. How are you dumb enough to upload such an offensive photo to a social media site? Did you think that no one would see it? DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THE INTERNET WORKS?

Three: WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? SERIOUSLY?

I have to stop typing now before I stroke out with rage. LIFE released the following on their company Facebook page in regards to the scandal: "On Nov. 19 at approximately 6 p.m., we became aware that one of our employees had posted an offensive, inappropriate photograph on her personal Facebook page. The photo was taken at a national historic site in October by a fellow employee during a trip to Washington, D.C. attended by 40 residents and eight staff. The photo has since been removed from Facebook, and both employees have been placed on unpaid leave pending the results of an internal investigation. This photograph in no way reflects the opinions or values of the LIFE organization, which holds our nation’s veterans in the highest regard. We are proud to have veterans serving on our staff and board of trustees, and we value their service. The men and women who have selflessly fought and sacrificed their lives to protect the rights and lives of Americans deserve our utmost respect and gratitude. We are acutely aware that this photo has done a disservice to veterans and we are deeply saddened that it was taken and shared in a public medium."
