Marching Bands are an essential part of football season. Some believe that is why people go to football games for the halftime show. Me, I’m one of those people.

Halftime shows are exciting. It combines the love of music, showmanship, and creativity. For some colleges and universities, fans wait until the halftime show is over before hitting the concession stands.

I’ve been playing an instrument since I was in middle school. Also, I marched in high school, which led me to a music scholarship to attend college. Through those years, I built lifelong friendships. Also, music programs teach valuable life lessons that extend beyond music. Honestly, I don’t know where I would be without music.

You thought a football rivalry was something. Let’s talk about the band programs. I remember times that we would have to have security survey our football stadium because spies from our rival high school would try to get a sample of our next performance.

Since next week we celebrate National Marching Music Day, I figured, let’s find out who is the favorite Marching Band among Alabamians.
