Picture it, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 1996. That’s when I arrived to kick off 95.7 JAMZ, a hip-hop station. Fast forward to 2021, and I’m back. My oh my, how things have changed.

Back in 1996, Tuscaloosa was a small country town. Al DuPont was mayor. 95.7 was a Rock station called The Fox. My good friend Steve Shannon was doing a morning show on a Top 40 station as “Steve and D.C.” (and now does mornings on country 95.3 The Bear.) Jeff Powers (real name Zannie Glover) was the morning show host on WTUG, and Fox 6 WBRC was an ABC affiliate.
