'Twas the night before the half marathon and all through the house.... well, it's me with knots in my stomach just hours away from the race.

For a long time, I've been eyeing the calendar for tomorrow's inaugural Tuscaloosa Half Marathon! The 13.1 mile race starts in the Government Plaza are of Downtown Tuscaloosa, between the City's intermodal facility and City Hall on 6th St. The finish line is Tuscaloosa Amphitheater on Jack Warner Parkway. The Radiology Clinic One Mile Fun Run will start after the half marathon in the same Government Plaza area.

This will be my first half marathon race and I'm feeling both nervous and anxious about it. It is expected to be in the 30s in the morning with snow flurries flying around and a steady wind around 10 mph. The forecasted weather condition should add more drama to the event, or at least help kick up my nerves tonight.

It is awesome to hear this first time event in Tuscaloosa has over 1,000 registered! I wonder how many of those are seasoned pros when it comes to half marathons? It is pride thing when someone passes you on the race course, watch me run too hard at the beginning to keep up with the faster runners and then end up on the side of the street bent over all out of breath coughing and gagging. What if I am the absolute last runner to cross the finish line? What if my time is so sloooow that cops and volunteers working the race are waiting on me to finally finish so they go home? Oh the fun anxiety attack of feelings my mind is going through tonight. The crazy thing, I just ran 11 miles last weekend and in decent amount of time. Yet, now I'm beginning to question how things will go in the morning.

Well, it is about time for me to have, a night before race, carb loaded spaghetti dinner. I'm running with my old iPhone for music and will be able to take photos along the way. Hopefully, I will great pics to share!
