Most Popular New Vehicle Colors Announced – Roll Tide Red?

Auto industry paint supplier PPG Industries has released the list of the most popular colors for new vehicles. The information is based on sales from this past year. So, what do you think is number 1? Just ignore the picture above for a second. Yes, I realize it is quite large. But, you can look at it later.

If you look around Tuscaloosa it appears obvious, this is a town all about red. Anything and everything, red. Give me red and Roll Tide!

Well, what about the national picture? What is the most popular color? Again, just ignore the picture above for a second, you can look at it later.  Okay, the answer is: WHITE. Yes, white is tops. Southerners will tell you that with our intensely hot and sunny summers, white is the way to go. Your car will not get as hot when it is parked. Heck, white still plays into the Roll Tide color scheme. Right?

I've always liked a classic and sharp looking black car. I say this and immediately get the, well the hot summer stuff. Yah, yah, sure. A car black, but I have a silver SUV and really prefer it that way. Watch out for this logic train, SUV's and trucks are tough, cars are slick and fast. Silver to me is the color of rugged steel. A tough vehicle- strong. I also like dark green for an SUV. Because, to me the SUV is about the outdoors and that is nature's color.

6. Blue: 9%
