Life as a New Mom: Baby’s Movin’ On Up [PHOTOS]
If you need me, I am probably in my office weeping. Yesterday, my daughter graduated to the "big girl" class at daycare. She's now officially in the pre-K group, and I am a mess just thinking about it.
My baby is in pre-K. She will celebrate her third birthday in two weeks. Where has the time gone? How is this even--someone help me. Send Kleenex, waterproof mascara, and maybe some premium chocolates so I can eat my feelings (I excel at that).
I am so proud of her. She is a curious, capable, and kind child. She's very intelligent, and I can't get over how rapidly she's learning and growing. She knows the alphabet and can identify each letter by sight. She can do simple addition and count to 20.
And she's so much FUN. I love watching her play, dance, and pretend. Seeing her imagination at work is incredible. She loves to make me laugh; she's such a ham.
She came home yesterday and was beaming.
"Momma," she squealed, "I in the big girl class now! I sit with [other kids' names] and my teacher say she pwoud of me!"
I gave her a huge hug and told her how remarkable she is before watching her skip off to her room. I cried a little--and later a cried a lot.
It's so bittersweet. She's a big girl now, but she'll always be my baby.
