Two sources told Us Weekly that while the couple has broken up for the second time -- the first was early on in their relationship, back in August -- it's likely not permanent.

They both have their eyes on the professional prize, which could be the cause of the split. But Katy is remaining optimistic.

“She’s leaving the window open. They have both been so focused on work," the source said.
