Chick-fil-A on Old Greensboro Road Undergoing Renovations
Last week, Tuscaloosa residents who wanted Chick-fil-A were met with a sour sight, as the store on Old Greensboro Road, just off of Skyland Boulevard in south Tuscaloosa, was shut down. The store has been closed for the past week, due to updates and renovations. The Tuscaloosa Thread spoke with a representative from the popular chain restaurant, who detailed the renovations and a timeline for when the store will reopen.

The representative told the Thread that they are overhauling the drive-through portion of the store, adding a door opening instead of the drive-through window, similar to the restaurant on McFarland Boulevard, which has the same owner and operator. Additionally, the drive-through lanes will be expanded, with two lanes around the restaurant instead of a single one. The entrance to the drive-through will be moved to the back of the store, which was formerly a gravel parking lot.
To enter the restaurant once renovations are complete, customers will need to turn onto Old Greensboro Road from Skyland Boulevard and enter via the back of the restaurant, rather than turn in at the side, which was the previous opening.
While an exact date of reopening was not provided, the representative from Chick-fil-A told the Tuscaloosa Thread that the expectation is that they will reopen "the week of March 9," which is next week.
Residents who want Chick-fil-A will either have to go to Northport or the new location on McFarland Boulevard until the store on Old Greesboro Road reopens.
