Empty Bowls Returns to Fight Hunger March 25
West Alabama is once again stepping up to fight hunger in a simple but powerful way.
The 18th annual Empty Bowls event will take place on Wednesday, March 25, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. inside the Grace Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.

The longtime community tradition raises both hunger awareness and critical funding for the Table of Grace food pantry, which continues to serve families across the region.
For a $25 donation at the door, guests will share in a modest meal of soup, bread, and water while enjoying live entertainment. The experience is intentionally simple, serving as a reminder that many of our neighbors face food insecurity every single day.
Each attendee will also leave with a handcrafted bowl created by local artisans and students from the University of Alabama ceramics program. That bowl is more than a keepsake. It represents the empty bowls that still sit on tables throughout our community.
For those needing a quick option, organizers are offering a “to-go” package for an additional $5, allowing guests to take both their meal and bowl with them.
Volunteers are encouraged to sign up through the church worship bulletin.
Supporters can also purchase tickets to the West Alabama Food and Wine Festival, another fundraiser benefiting Table of Grace. Organizers encourage buying early before tickets sell out.
