Former UA Creative Making Noise In NBA Playoffs

Emily Henderson is proof that some of the biggest names in sports media are being built right here out of Alabama.

The 25 year old Birmingham native and 2023 University of Alabama graduate is quickly becoming one of the rising creatives in professional sports, now serving as a Content Producer for the San Antonio Spurs during the team’s 2025-2026 NBA Playoff run.

Henderson’s journey started in high school photography classes before growing into one of the most impressive young resumes in sports content today. During her time at Alabama, she worked with Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide football program as a recruiting photographer while continuing to sharpen her storytelling and creative vision.

Following graduation, Henderson stacked experience with some of the biggest brands in sports, including NFL Films as a Creative Producer Intern, the New York Giants as a Photography Intern, and the Detroit Pistons as a Content Associate before landing her full time role with the Spurs.

Now, she’s helping tell the story of one of the NBA’s playoff teams from behind the lens.

“Although my role is not putting shots up or defending the post, getting to film moments and build out edits that create more hype and conversation about this playoff team allows me to feel part of the team,” Henderson said.

A former basketball player herself from ages 4 through 18, Henderson says sports have always been part of her life. That background now helps her anticipate moments, emotions, and storytelling opportunities while covering games at the highest level.

“Similar to an athlete, it is all about the reps,” Henderson explained. “I didn’t start with the playoffs. I started with graduation photography and sorority rush videos.”

From Bryant Denny Stadium to the NBA Playoffs, Henderson continues to show what can happen when preparation meets opportunity. And judging by the path she’s already created before turning 26, she’s just getting started.
