The White House has proclaimed today National First Responders Day, honoring all of the brave and selfless firefighters, EMTs, and police officers.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, there are more than 4.6000,00 first responders in America, and many of them don’t even get paid.

Nearly 2/3 of the countries' firefighters are volunteers.

There are a couple of special ways our first responders are being honored on Tuesday (10-28) and Wednesday (10-29).

However, there are some special opportunities for first responders today at these businesses in Alabama:

In addition, we will be hosting our monthly First Responders luncheon, which is brought to you by Taylor Electrical and Jalapeños Mexican Restaurant.

All first responders are welcome to attend the Free luncheon at jalapeños on New Watermelon Road in Tuscaloosa from 11 AM until 1 PM.

It’s just one small way to honor our West Alabama heroes who have served our community and continue to put their lives on the line every day.
