Yeah, they say if you scream, I scream, and then we all scream for ice cream. I guess that's how they say it. I do love ice cream. Put me in front of a pint of good, premium ice cream (there is a difference), and I'm a happy camper.

Now, with Summer rolling in, it is time to officially talk ice cream. This might be the most exhaustive study or survey I have ever seen on any food item, much less ice cream. Thanks to the folks at Innerbody, we have all the data.
It breaks down everything from the states that eat the most ice cream to those that eat the least.
Where does Alabama rank?
When it comes to how much ice cream we eat, we are basically in the middle of the pack, around the mid-20s. Would you believe the state that eats the most ice cream is New Jersey? What about the states that eat the least amount of that frozen dairy concoction? The bottom three are:
- Arkansas
- North Dakota
- Oklahoma
What about brands? What is your favorite brand of ice cream? I know lots of us in Alabama have a deep love for Blue Bell ice cream because it’s simply wonderful.

Have you tried the new black raspberry and fudge flavor? I didn’t even know black raspberries were a thing and that they taste so good. There’s also a new vanilla honey. That is pretty special.
According to the survey, the number one brand in Alabama is Halo Top.
What about the flavor that is the number one flavor in Alabama?
I was a little surprised by this one, but after talking to several folks around Tuscaloosa, they don’t seem surprised.
The top flavor is....
BIRTHDAY CAKE
Not my favorite, but I know it is popular.
