First Quarter: Texas 13 - Alabama 11

Texas and Alabama went back and forth. Both teams struggled a little with pace of play but still competed at a high level. For Alabama, Jessica Timmons held the offense together. She posted for 7 points as she found ways to score against the Longhorns. For Texas, Jordan Lee (5 points) and Brea Cunningham (4 points) shined while Madison Booker stayed quiet.

Second Quarter: Texas 29 - Alabama 20

Alabama flipped the switch as Texas sluggish start continued. The Crimson Tide's offense saw more success behind their spacing and ball movement. Ta'Mia Scott, Karly Weathers and Essence Cody contributed more. Texas relied on Alabama's mistakes by transition offense and breakway steals.

Third Quarter: Texas 49 - Alabama 37

Madison Booker and Kyla Oldacre took over for Texas. Madison Booker's signature midrange shot started to fall. Kyla Oldcare's post presence caused Alabama problems both offensively and defensively. Alabama's Waiata Jennings was a huge spark on both ends of the court. Waiata Jennings quickness and IQ stood out at times when Alabama needed it the most.

Fourth Quarter: Texas 72 - Alabama 65

The fourth quarter replicated much of the third for Texas. The pick and roll set was too much to handle for Alabama. From the pick and roll, Madison Booker either used her length for a jumpshot or drove to the hoop. Jessica Timmons used what she did the first half to finish the quarter with 11 points. Essence Cody adjusted to Texas defense and posted 10 points. Alabama fought hard but in the end, Texas discipline and size showed up.

Head Coach Kristy Curry shared her thoughts about the loss.

I thought we had a good crowd come out today. I thought for the most part we've really seen growth in our attendance. I appreciate our fan base first and foremost.

Credit to Texas. I thought we were able to make a few more stops. I thought we gave them a couple offensive rebounds late, missed a couple free throws, missed a couple wide open layups. Throughout the course of the game, you just had a very small margin for error. We just weren't able to do it down the stretch and get enough stops and find enough makes but very proud of the opportunity today.

We've played four top-10 teams for the last five games. So, I think you have to have perspective, and you have to take these experiences into the SEC Tournament, NCAA Tournament and grow from them. So, we'll continue to stay positive and have perspective and know that we have a lot of basketball to play. I think that with our senior class today, they're not done. So that's really special to be a senior and not be done after the SEC Tournament.

SEC Slate (Sunday):

Madina Okot leads the way with a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds, while Tessa Johnson scores 12 points to help the Gamecocks defeat the Wildcats, 60-56. South Carolina heads into the SEC Tournament with big momentum.

Blakes becomes the first SEC player to average 30 points in a season, and Aubrey Galvin adds 24 points as the Commodores defeat the Lady Vols 87-77. Tennessee has lost their sixth straight game. Talaysia Cooper led the Lady Vols in points with 23.

Mikayiah Williams had 28 points and 15 rebounds, and No. 6 LSU rallied in the third quarter to defeat Mississippi State 72-63. Mississippi State's Kharyssa Richardson finished with 18 points and Madison Francis with 13 points. The Bulldogs have lost four games in a row.

Ragen Beers' 23 points and Aaliyah Chavez 18 points rallied Oklahoma on the road 84-78 against Missouri. Missouri is on a six game losing streak but Shannon Dowell scored a season best 33 points.

Ny'Ceara Pryor scores 16 points and Fatmata Janneh adds 15 points and 10 rebounds to help the Aggies defeat the Rebels, 66-58, in their regular-season finale. The Aggies last season turnaround has been beneficial behind their current 5 game winning streak.

Dani Carnegie scores 26 points, while Mia Woolfolk adds 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs to a 71-58 victory over the Gators. Georgia has produced the most impressive single-season turnaround in program history. After finishing 13-19 last season, the Bulldogs are 22-8, a nine-win improvement from 2024-25.

Arkansas's explosive second half and Wyvette Mayberry's 25 points became the focal point for the 70-41 win. The razorbacks three point shooting (42 percent) stood out on the stats sheet in comparison to Auburn's 1 of 20.
