How Much is Too Much for Makeup? [POLL]

I visited the Estée Lauder counter at Belk this weekend and received a free sample of their incredible Double-Wear Light Foundation. I fell in love immediately, but I balked at the price: $37.00. How much is too much for makeup?

I usually stick to drugstore brands like Lóreal. $15 is the highest I feel comfortable paying for a bottle of foundation. Am I too cheap? I'm debating purchasing the Estée Lauder, but I feel so guilty spending more on makeup. Am I crazy? Are prestige brands better than drugstore makeup? Cast your vote below.
