Tornado Watch Issued for Portions of West Alabama This Morning
The National Weather Service in Birmingham has extended the timing of the “TORNADO WATCH.”
A tornado watch is issued when weather conditions are favorable for tornado development. It should also be a signal to you to be ready and review your safety plan.
West Alabama Counties Under the TORNADO WATCH
Bibb - Saturday, January 10, until 1 p.m.
Greene - removed from the watch area
Hale - Saturday, January 10, until 1 p.m.
Perry - Saturday, January 10, until 1 p.m.
Pickens - removed from the watch area
Sumter - removed from the watch area
Tuscaloosa - removed from the watch area
Stay weather-aware today. It’s also a great idea to understand which Alabama county you live in and which quadrant of the county. Also, be aware of the counties surrounding you, as severe weather does not stop at county lines.
