
Tuscaloosa VCU On Scene of Shooting at Bobby Miller Center
The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit is on the scene at the Bobby Miller Center in South Tuscaloosa after reports of a shooting at the activity center on Tuesday.

Jack Kennedy, the commander of the Violent Crimes Unit and captain with the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office, confirmed the shooting to local media at 5:19 p.m. on Tuesday.
Kennedy said the VCU is on scene at the Bobby Miller Center just off Old Marion Road and Patriot Parkway Tuesday.
Kennedy said one person was shot, although the victim's condition is currently unknown.
A statement from VCU commander Jack Kennedy was released on Tuesday night:
"On 3.11.25, at approximately 4 p.m., TCSO, TPD, and VCU responded to a shooting at the Bobby Miller Activity Center," the statement read. "One male had been taken to DCH by private vehicle and is in serious condition. It was found a group was engaged in a large physical altercation when a shot was fired, striking the victim. The altercation began on the basketball court, and the shooting occurred inside the building near an exit door. The VCU is investigating."
