A fire station in Tuscaloosa will play host to Santa Claus this weekend for a morning of hot cocoa, Christmas cookies and family photos with St. Nick.

A spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue said the tradition started a few years ago and will return to Fire Station 1 on Greensboro Avenue this Saturday, December 6th, from 10 a.m. until noon.

Families can stop by to enjoy hot cocoa and cookies, meet the firefighters who work to keep the city safe, and get a picture taken with Santa in the warm, seasonally decorated station house.

The event also doubles as a toy drive for the less fortunate, and TFR asks those who can to bring a gift to donate to the Toys for Tots campaign.

"We kindly request that those who attend bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to this worthy cause and help make a child’s holiday season a little brighter," TFR spokesperson Holly Whigham said. "We look forward to seeing the community come
together and enjoy the Christmas season with us at Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue."
