Norfolk Southern will close eight railroad crossings across Tuscaloosa to car traffic this week, city staff said on social media Tuesday.

According to a Facebook post from City Hall, the railroad company plans to close the crossings this Wednesday and Thursday - February 5th and 6th.

The post says the crossings will be closed "throughout the day" on both days, closing the following roads Wednesday and Thursday.

  • Dr. Edward Hilliard Drive
  • Hackberry Lane
  • 10th Avenue
  • 12th Avenue
  • 26th Avenue
  • Pelham Heights Road
  • Buttermilk Road
  • 19th Avenue East

The city suggests planning alternate routes around the eight railroad crossings during their closures.
