Family of Sisters Killed in Tuscaloosa Shooting Asks For Help Funding Funerals
The bereaved family of two sisters who were shot and killed in Tuscaloosa earlier this week is asking for help paying for their funerals and burial.
The deceased are 20-year-old Kaliyah Houston and 16-year-old Christasia Prewitt, young sisters who both died in a triple shooting that also wounded a juvenile male late Monday night.
The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit identified a 19-year-old as the suspect in the killings, and US Marshals located and arrested Keshawn Jermichael Woods on Tuesday.

Now, the grandmother of the two girls who were killed is asking for help paying to lay them to rest. Whitney Neal, a community activist in Tuscaloosa who runs a popular West Alabama Facebook group, said funds are needed to bury Houston and Prewitt.
Neal's Wednesday post, which has already been shared hundreds of times across the community, directs donations to Wills Funeral Home on Martin Luther King Boulevard in Northport.
