Alabama is no strange to severe weather as we all know.
According to Stacker, there are roughly 100,000 thunderstorms every year in the United States, and 1 in 10 is considered severe. Flash floods, and fires could be a result of thunderstorms.
Stacker recently did a study where they found the top county in each state with the worst weather.
They used data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to get their rankings and sorted a decade of storm events large and small from 2010 to 2020.

The county with the worst weather in Alabama according to Stacker is in the heart of Dixie-Alley and has had 800 severe weather events from 2010-2020.

Towns like Lexington, Rogersville, St. Florian, and Waterloo are all located in Lauderdale county. Stacker says that the location of Lauderdale county in northern Alabama makes it prone to high wind and tornado-bearing thunderstorms.
