Thursday’s Threat Brings Damaging Winds & Large Hail to Alabama
Alabamians should be on guard this week and weekend for multiple days of active weather.
Thursday Outlook
The Townsquare Media Weather Center is monitoring an incoming system that will be fast-moving through the state on Thursday, March 13.
Risk Areas
The Storm Prediction Center has a good portion of the state under a "marginal risk" (level 1/5). This includes the Townsquare Media Coverage Area of Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Perry, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, and Walker counties.

Threats
The main threats with the Thursday storm system are “damaging winds up to 60 mph and hail up to golf ball size,” said the National Weather Service in Birmingham.
James Spann, ABC 33/40 and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist, said, “A few storms Thursday could produce gusty winds and some small hail, but the overall threat is low with weak dynamic support.”
Timing
This severe weather threat will be between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.
