
Storm Shelters Opening in West Alabama: Stay Safe This Weekend!
As we head into the weekend, severe weather is expected to affect West Alabama, particularly from Friday afternoon through Saturday evening. To help ensure your safety, several public storm shelters are available across the area.
PARA is opening four storm shelters for public use:
- McDonald Hughes Community Center Safe Room: More info here

- Northside Park Samantha VFD Shelter: More info here
- Holt Community Tornado Shelter (located just outside PARA's Evans-Rochelle Park, operated by Holt in Action & EMA): More info here

If you have a PARA facility rental, any cancellation or change fees will be waived if you need to reschedule or cancel due to weather concerns.
