According to the ADPH, Alabama is the fifth poorest state in the nation, with 17% of adults and 23% of children (1 out of 4) facing food insecurity, or lack of regular access to enough nutritious food for an active, healthy life.

It's a blessing when people look out for those in need when it comes to food. Especially educators. We all know food insecurity can impact a student's performance in school

The whole situation involves an employee collecting donations from a friend for the school's PTO lunch account which is used to feed hungry students. When the employee was questioned about it by school officials they lied and was later terminated.

While I do understand that lying should be punished, firing this 8-year employee for feeding those hungry kids seems a little harsh. Is it just me?
