Toby, a K9 officer, has received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a very charitable donation from non-profit organization "Vested Interest in K9's". K9 Toby's vest was actually sponsored by Manitou Cliff Dwellings of Manitou Springs, Colorado.

K9 Toby is a great looking 2-year-old Dutch Shepherd. K9 Toby works with the Alabama Law Enforcement SWAT team. He's a dual purpose dog with training in apprehension and tracking. Vested Interest is a 501 (c)(3) established in 2009 with a mission to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States.

The potentially lifesaving body armor for four-legged K9 officers is made here in the USA. It's always custom  fitted and National Institute of Justice certified. Since their inception, Vested Interest in K9's has provided over 6,500 vests valued at $6.9 million in all 50 states.

The program is open to U.S. dogs at least 20 months old and actively employed and certified with law enforcement or related agencies. K9's with expired vests are also eligible to participate. There are an estimated 30,000 law enforcement K9s throughout the United States.

Vested Interest in K9's accepts tax-deductible contributions in any amount at www.vik9s.org.
