
Fog Creating Traffic Hazard
East Alabama is under a Dense Fog Advisory, but the backside of the fog area has extended into Tuscaloosa County this morning. This is creating hazardous driving conditions along I20/59 East and other main roads in Tuscaloosa, mainly from Cottondale eastward.
ALEA reports traffic has been slowed to a crawl in some areas and backups have occurred at spots on I20/59.
Visibility is down to one quarter mile or less in spotty areas of dense fog dense fog.
ALEA advises motorist to slow down, turn headlights on low beam and be prepared to make quick stops.
The national Weather Service advises the fog should begin to burn off around 9:00 this morning.
