TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — At the halfway mark of the 2025 college baseball season, Alabama is enjoying an incredibly successful year two under head coach Rob Vaughn, who currently has the Crimson Tide sitting at a 26-4 overall record and a 6-3 SEC record.

Vaughn has Alabama in a prime position to host an NCAA regional for the first time since 2023, when current pitching and associate head coach Jason Jackson took over for Brad Bohannan after the former 49-year-old was fired due to his involvement in a betting scandal.

This would mark the first time Alabama earned a national seed twice in three or fewer years since the NCAA began the practice in 1999.

As of now, the Crimson Tide is projected to do so. D1Baseball's midseason rendition of the Field of 64 has Alabama hosting a regional as the No. 11 overall seed in the nation.

According to D1Baseball, the Crimson Tide would host Georgia Tech, East Tennessee State, which took down Tennessee 7-6 in midweek action, and Stetson, which ended Alabama's season a year ago in the Tallahassee Regional.

On the other side of the bracket are the No. 6 overall seed UCLA Bruins in the Los Angeles Regional. The Bruins currently sit at the top of the Big Ten with a 10-2 record in league play and a 23-5 overall record. UCLA would welcome Vanderbilt, Stanford, and Holy Cross to Los Angeles.

The SEC has five of the top eight seeds, including No. 1 overall Tennessee. Alabama at No. 11 and Ole Miss at No. 15 make it seven total host-seeds for the SEC.
