Alabama has its top-rated quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class, with four-star, Nebraska native quarterback Jett Thomalla signing with the Alabama Crimson Tide on Early Signing Day on Wednesday.

Thomalla, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound quarterback from Millard South High School in Omaha, Nebraska, committed to Alabama on June 17, 2025, and officially signed with the Crimson Tide on December 3, 2025, on early national signing day.

 

He is rated as the No. 57 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class, a top-five quarterback in the class, and the No. 1 player in Nebraska. His primary recruiter is Alabama quarterbacks coach Nick Sheridan, who served as the Crimson Tide's offensive coordinator during the 2024 season. Thomalla has made three visits to Tuscaloosa, with the most recent coming the weekend of October 17, when Alabama played the Tennessee Volunteers.

 

As a junior during the 2024 season, Thomalla completed 69.6% of his passes for 3,663 yards and 47 touchdowns, adding 76 yards and a touchdown on the ground. He led Millard South to a 12-1 record and a Class A championship in Nebraska.

 

As a senior in 2025, Thomalla took his game to another level, completing 73% of his passes for 3,484 yards and 61 touchdowns, with a QBR of 146.4. He led Millard South to a perfect 13-0 record and a second-consecutive state championship.
