BREAKING: Alabama Superstar SS Returns for Junior Season
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — After an uncomfortable wait, Alabama baseball fans can rest easy, knowing that superstar shortstop Justin Lebron will return to Tuscaloosa for his third and likely final season of college baseball, Jake McKeever of College Baseball Central reported late on Friday night.

Smarr's report indicated rumors of tampering with the Miramar, Florida native, but Lebron will return his talents to Tuscaloosa. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound sophomore was a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award during the 2025 college baseball season.
Lebron joins Alabama baseball head coach Rob Vaughn as members of the Crimson Tide baseball squad to announce their return to Tuscaloosa for next season. Vaughn signed a contract extension earlier in the week amid reports that Texas A&M had "thrown his name around" in a potential head coaching search had the Aggies fired first-year Texas A&M baseball coach Michael Earley.
Lebron, a potential No. 1 overall pick candidate in the 2026 MLB draft, is a five-tool player who can keep the Crimson Tide in almost any game it plays. He was named Second-Team All-SEC and earned his second consecutive SEC All-Defensive Team selection.
At the plate, Lebron was the star for the Tide, leading the team in doubles (17), home runs(18), RBI (69), total bases (141), runs scored (59), and stolen bases (16). His 69 RBIs were the most in the SEC this season, and he tied for 15th in all of college baseball. His 17 home runs were tied for fifth in the SEC and 32nd in Division I baseball.
Lebron will look to help Alabama baseball head coach Rob Vaughn secure his first win in the NCAA Tournament as the Tide begin to construct the roster for the 2026 college baseball season.
