Alabama partnering With US Navy for On-Field Sponsor

The Alabama Crimson Tide will officially have an on-field sponsor at Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium, with the University of Alabama partnering with the U.S. Navy to build a Maritime workforce through their "Build Giants Alabama" initiative.

Ben Portnoy of Sports Business Journal was the first to report on the partnership between the United States Navy and the University of Alabama, with the university releasing the official partnership shortly after.

“This partnership allows The University of Alabama to connect our students and communities with high-demand careers that serve both Alabama’s economy and our nation’s security,” said Peter Mohler, president of The University of Alabama, in a statement. “Our role as the state’s flagship institution helps create pathways that strengthen industries vital to our future. Build Giants Alabama provides opportunities for Alabama residents to prepare for meaningful careers while contributing to the defense of our nation.”

As a part of the initiative, "Build Giants Alabama" will have its logo on the field on Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium. In addition to the on-field logo, former Alabama head coach Nick Saban will be featured on in-venue messages, emphasizing the importance of the Build Giants Alabama initiative.

“Partnering with the U.S. Navy’s Maritime Industrial Base (MIB) Program creates a unique and impactful opportunity to support our state and our nation,” said Alabama director of athletics Greg Byrne. “We’re proud to team up with and shine a spotlight on the Build Giants Alabama initiative as it assembles its workforce in this vital industry for current and future generations.”
